NBA teams finalize rosters ahead of regular season deadline
NBA teams are finalizing rosters ahead of the regular season deadline. Many clubs completed roster cuts on Saturday to ensure players on non-guaranteed contracts clear waivers before Monday, avoiding additional salary obligations.
Currently, 25 of the 30 NBA teams have rosters that comply with league limits regarding standard and two-way contracts. Ten teams, including the Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, and Phoenix Suns, are at the maximum limit of 15 standard contracts and three two-way contracts. The Phoenix Suns are expected to make adjustments by converting Duop Reath’s Exhibit-10 contract to a two-way deal.
In specific player moves, the Cleveland Cavaliers signed Tre’von Spillers to an Exhibit-10 contract. Spillers, a 6'7 forward who previously played for Wake Forest, is expected to bolster the team's G-League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge.
