NBA teams Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks adjust rosters
NBA teams the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks have made roster adjustments ahead of the regular season.
The Houston Rockets waived wing Bryce Harris, forward Cameron Matthews, and guard Caleb McConnell. All three players were on Exhibit 10 contracts and are expected to join the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets' G League affiliate. Houston currently has 18 players under contract but only two on two-way deals, necessitating further moves before the Monday deadline. The team is also managing its proximity to the luxury tax line, which may influence whether they fill their final roster spot.
The Dallas Mavericks waived guard John Poulakidas from his two-way contract and also waived guard Seth Lundy. The Mavericks are reportedly open to re-signing Lundy to a two-way contract. The team is currently seeking to fill an open two-way roster spot, though NBA regulations prevent them from waiving certain players on guaranteed contracts to re-sign them to two-way deals.
