NBA teams Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves announce roster cuts

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves have both made roster cuts as they prepare for the NBA regular season.

The Thunder waived four players—Buddy Boeheim, Nate Johnson, Lamar Wilkerson, and Christoph Tilly—bringing their roster to 17 players. Boeheim’s tenure was notably brief, as he was signed and then waived on the same day. The team currently holds 14 standard contracts and three two-way deals, maintaining one standard spot to provide financial flexibility regarding the luxury tax.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves released five players to meet regular-season limits, including two-way contract holder Enrique Freeman. The other waived players, all on Exhibit 10 deals, include Antonio Reeves, KJ Martin, Norchad Omier, and Drew Timme. Minnesota intends to keep a two-way slot open to evaluate potential additions in the coming days. The waived players may join the Iowa Wolves, the team’s G League affiliate, if they clear waivers.
