NBA teams waive several players including Johni Broome
The NBA saw a wave of roster changes on Thursday as several teams waived players to manage contracts and roster spots. The Los Angeles Clippers waived center/forward Johni Broome to reduce their number of guaranteed contracts. Broome, a former Auburn player, is owed a $2.15 million salary for the current season.
Other notable releases included Keon Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks and AJ Hoggard of the Toronto Raptors. In total, 12 players were waived across the league. Many of these players, including Johnson, Sandfort, and Sears, are expected to pursue opportunities in the NBA G League, potentially earning bonuses for spending time with their respective teams’ affiliates.
