NBA ticket prices surge for LeBron James' Philadelphia 76ers debut

Ticket prices for the upcoming 2026/27 NBA season are reaching record levels, driven by high demand for the Philadelphia 76ers. The season opener between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on October 20 is projected to be the most expensive season premiere in league history.

On the secondary market, the cheapest available tickets for the matchup are listed between approximately $1,881 and $2,200. Premium seating in the lower level of Madison Square Garden is reported to start at around $3,479. This surge in interest is largely attributed to LeBron James joining the 76ers, alongside players like Jaylen Brown.

The game will also serve as a championship celebration for the Knicks, who are scheduled to raise their championship banner. In comparison to the previous season, where the cheapest tickets for a 76ers home opener were around $100, the current market shows a massive increase in valuation. Philadelphia currently accounts for nine of the ten most expensive NBA games scheduled for the upcoming season.
