NBC announces new sitcom Newlyweds starring Jamie Lee Curtis

NBC is launching a new romantic comedy series titled “Newlyweds,” co-created by Jamie Lee Curtis. The sitcom stars Téa Leoni as Jeanie, a free spirit, and Tim Daly as James, a buttoned-up professor, who marry following a whirlwind courtship.

Jamie Lee Curtis portrays James’s ex-wife, adding a layer of drama to the central relationship. The supporting cast includes Bill O’Neill, Emma Meisel, and Ignacio Diaz-Silverio. The series is expected to consist of 13 episodes.

Leoni and Daly, who previously worked together on “Madam Secretary,” noted that the project aims to provide lighter content. The show follows the couple as they navigate clashing interests and the involvement of an eccentric circle of friends and family.
