NBC confirms Law & Order season 26, cancels Organized Crime
NBC has announced that the flagship series Law & Order will return for a 26th season on its 2026 fall schedule. The new season is slated to air on Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, following Law & Order: SVU, with a premiere expected in late September or early October, though an exact date has not yet been set.
At the same time, the network confirmed the cancellation of the spin‑off Organized Crime after its fifth season. NBCUniversal scripted‑content president Lisa Katz said the series "ran its course" and cited budget considerations, disappointing fans who hoped for a continuation or a crossover return of the main character.
These decisions keep the core Law & Order franchise on NBC while ending the affiliated series.
