NBC orders extra scripts for new drama ‘Line of Fire’

NBC has ordered five additional scripts for its new scripted drama ‘Line of Fire’, signaling potential growth for the series. The show, which stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis, follows a family of federal law enforcement agents entangled in a mystery involving an unknown killer.

Since its September 21 premiere, the series has seen significant viewership gains. Multi-platform viewership has reached nearly 12 million viewers, including encores. The series has also improved NBC’s Monday 10 PM time slot by 48% in Live+3 multi-platform total viewers compared to the previous fall season.

Created by Joshua Safran, the series was initially ordered for 13 episodes. If the additional scripts are converted into an episodic order, the first season could expand to 18 episodes. The show is produced by Universal Television and executive produced by Safran alongside Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector.
