NBC Sports launches exclusive MLB Wild Card Series coverage

NBC Sports is beginning its exclusive coverage of the Major League Baseball Wild Card Series, marking a significant return to MLB postseason broadcasting for the network. The coverage includes multiple games daily on NBC and NBC Sports Network, with the streaming service Peacock providing coverage of every inning of the round.

To celebrate the event, NBC has installed a 25-foot ‘House of (Wild) Cards’ structure at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York. The installation features 26 oversized custom trading cards representing the four Wild Card matchups and serves as a hub for fan activations, including watch parties on Rockefeller Plaza and promotional giveaways from the Topps Truck.

The return to broadcast television follows a period where playoff games were primarily held on cable. This season of Sunday Night Baseball has already seen increased engagement, with 14 primetime broadcasts averaging 2.7 million viewers, the highest since 2007.
