NBCUniversal appoints Christopher Halpin CFO ahead of Comcast spinoff
NBCUniversal announced that Christopher Halpin will become its Chief Financial Officer on September 8, 2026, as the company prepares for a spin‑off from parent Comcast. Halpin will report to Mike Cavanagh, co‑Chief Executive Officer of Comcast and the designated future CEO of NBCUniversal after the separation.
Halpin joins NBCUniversal from People Incorporated (formerly IAC), where he held the titles of executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer. His prior experience includes senior leadership roles at the National Football League, most recently as executive vice president and chief strategy and growth officer, as well as positions at Providence Equity Partners and Goldman Sachs.
Current NBCUniversal CFO Randy Culbertson will remain with the studio in a new, as‑yet‑unannounced role. The spin‑off aims to make NBCUniversal a standalone, publicly traded media and entertainment company, with its portfolio of film, television, streaming, and theme‑park assets to be listed separately.
