Nébih bans over 4 tons of food products following seasonal inspections

The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has concluded its seasonal inspection series, resulting in the ban and removal of over 4 tons of food products.

During inspections of meat and ice cream producers, authorities identified hygiene deficiencies and products with expired shelf lives or untraceable origins. Specifically, nearly 2 tons of ice cream and frozen desserts, along with more than 2.5 tons of meat products, were immediately banned from sale and ordered to be withdrawn from the market.

Additionally, inspections of 314 producers involving nearly 300 tons of fruits and vegetables revealed several instances of labeling and traceability issues. This led to the removal of over half a ton of produce from circulation and the initiation of legal proceedings in 12 separate cases.
