NBTC Chairman Soron Boonbaichaiyapruck defends role amid removal reports
Dr. Soron Boonbaichaiyapruck, Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), has addressed reports regarding his potential removal from his position. Following news that the Prime Minister has submitted his name for royal command to vacate the post, Dr. Soron stated he is currently continuing his duties with loyalty.
The controversy stems from legal discussions regarding whether his medical profession conflicts with his eligibility for the NBTC role. Dr. Soron defended his position, noting that he practiced medicine long before his appointment and questioned how his medical practice could negatively impact the commission. He emphasized his integrity, stating, “I am a doctor for life... I have not stolen from anyone, I have not harmed anyone, but I treat patients with confidence.”
While Dr. Soron indicated he has several options regarding his future, he maintained that he has done nothing wrong. He noted that further developments regarding the commission's direction would be clearer following upcoming meetings.
