NCBA Bank and MAC East Africa launch school bus financing
NCBA Bank Uganda and MAC East Africa have launched a School Bus Financing Partnership to assist educational institutions in acquiring transport. The initiative, unveiled in Kampala, aims to reduce the upfront capital burden on schools by offering up to 100 per cent financing for school buses.
The financing package includes repayment periods of up to 72 months and a repayment holiday of up to 90 days. To support long-term vehicle utility, the deal also provides free servicing and maintenance, comprehensive insurance, and free tracker installation.
Julius Konyani, Executive Director of NCBA Bank Uganda, stated that the partnership is designed to help schools turn their ambitions into reality by making reliable transport more accessible. Aditya Arora, Country General Manager at MAC East Africa, noted that a school bus is a vital component of a school’s ability to provide reliable service to learners and parents. The launch also involved discussions with the Ministry of Works and Transport regarding road safety and the importance of reliable vehicles and responsible operators for student transportation.
