NCC quarry consultation meeting met with protests in Södra Sandby

A consultation meeting held by NCC regarding a planned quarry in Rögleskogen, Södra Sandby, was marked by intense verbal confrontations and protests. Demonstrators objected to the company’s meeting format, which involved a 90-minute presentation followed by questions at individual expert stations located outside the main hall.

Pernilla Ström, a local activist and columnist, led a protest against this structure, proposing instead that questions be addressed to experts on stage in front of the entire audience. After a majority of attendees voted to remain in the hall to demand this format, NCC corporate lawyer Marie Werner attempted to maintain the original agenda, warning that the meeting might be interrupted if order could not be maintained.
