NCDMB promotes African industrial growth at Africa Oil Week 2026
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) participated in the Africa Local Content Programme during Africa Oil Week 2026 in Accra, Ghana. The event, organized in partnership with the African Union and the Petroleum Commission Ghana, focused on building capacity, competitiveness, and collaboration across the upstream value chain.
Representing NCDMB Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu emphasized the necessity for African nations to transition from mere resource ownership to developing sustainable industrial capacity. He advocated for local content frameworks that utilize cross-border capacities to drive industrialization. Key components of this value proposition include research and technology development, local employment, strategic partnerships, and the increased utilization of locally manufactured goods to boost GDP.
