NCDMB sponsors AI and digital skills training for Nigeria Police Force

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a strategic initiative to sponsor Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital skills training for instructors within the Nigeria Police Force. This Training-of-Trainers Programme aims to modernize law enforcement by integrating advanced technological competencies into police training curricula.

The training sessions, conducted in Lagos for the South-West and Abuja for the North-Central regions, focus on equipping instructors with expertise in cybercrime management, data-driven intelligence gathering, and digital forensic analysis. By training instructors, the NCDMB intends to create a multiplier effect, allowing these skills to be cascaded down to recruits, cadets, and serving officers across the country.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Isyaku Mohammed noted that the programme is a vital step toward building a more intelligence-driven and responsive force capable of addressing technology-enabled security threats. While the NCDMB’s primary mandate involves managing local content in the oil and gas industry, the board is expanding its focus to include the intersection of technology and national security to protect critical infrastructure and economic stability.
