NCPC and Anambra State prepare for 2026 Christian pilgrimage

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) and state pilgrims offices are coordinating preparations for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan. The exercise is scheduled to run from the first week of November through the last week of December 2026.

Following security challenges and conflicts in the Middle East during the 2025 pilgrimage, NCPC Executive Secretary Bishop Steven Adegbite emphasized that the safety and welfare of pilgrims must take precedence over financial considerations. The Commission has committed to monitoring the security situation in Israel closely before operations begin.

In the South-east region, the NCPC has urged governors to support indigent citizens in participating in these spiritual journeys. Officials from the Anambra State Pilgrims Office have engaged with the NCPC Southeast Zonal Office to strengthen partnerships and enhance pilgrim administration. Anambra has re-established its pilgrims office to improve service delivery and opportunities for its citizens.
