Haryana Police block Khanauri crossing to halt farmers' march to Delhi

Haryana Police have implemented heavy security measures at the Khanauri crossing on the Punjab-Haryana border to block a farmers' march toward Delhi. Authorities deployed riot control units, concrete blocks, chained metal barriers, and multi-layered barricades to prevent hundreds of protesters, organized under the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukta Kisan Morcha banners, from entering the state.

The protesting farmers are demanding a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP), opposing proposed free-trade agreements, and calling for the release of detained leaders. The blockade has led to heightened tensions at the border checkpoint.

In separate news, the 17th NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Awards 2026 were held in New Delhi, honoring 14 individuals and organizations for their contributions to accessibility and inclusive design.
