NCPI MPs meet West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari

NCPI Members of Parliament Abu Taher Khan and Khalilur Rahman met with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna to discuss regional grievances and clarify their political status.

Following recent meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, the two MPs addressed speculation regarding their political affiliation. They stated that the NCPI is not yet an official partner of the NDA and emphasized that they are still officially listed as All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) MPs in Lok Sabha records. They noted that no final decision has been made regarding their future political placement.

The primary focus of the meeting with the Chief Minister involved administrative issues in Murshidabad. The MPs raised concerns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, claiming approximately 2.7 million names were removed, with only 700,000 people able to apply for reinstatement. They requested an extension for applications to assist underprivileged citizens.

Additionally, the MPs expressed concern over the removal of microphones from mosques, requesting that religious practices not be disrupted. The Chief Minister reportedly listened to the concerns and provided assurances of assistance.
