NCR to lay off approximately 260 workers in Banja Luka
Approximately 260 employees at the Banja Luka office of the American multinational corporation NCR are expected to be laid off by the end of the year. According to reports, the workforce reductions will be implemented in three distinct waves scheduled for October 31, November 30, and December 31.
Management from the United States reportedly informed staff of the decision during a meeting at the Hotel Bosna. Employees stated that the announcement was delivered via a PowerPoint presentation and that the company is currently in negotiations with the Employment Service of Republika Srpska regarding the handling of redundant workers.
There are concerns regarding severance packages, with workers suggesting they may only receive the legal minimum of approximately 1,000 KM. While the Banja Luka office previously employed around 600 people, the company has indicated that further reductions could continue in waves through 2027.
