NCSoft diversifies portfolio with subculture and action RPG titles
NCSoft is aggressively diversifying its game portfolio to reduce its heavy reliance on the MMORPG genre. The company is expanding into subculture, shooter, and action RPG markets through a two-track strategy of internal development and external publishing/investment.
At the Tokyo Game Show 2026, NCSoft showcased ‘Astrae Oratio’, a subculture RPG developed by Dynamis One. The title drew significant attention, resulting in wait times of up to 90 minutes for demonstrations. NCSoft is also preparing ‘Limit Zero Breakers’, an action RPG from Big Games Studio, which is slated for a global release later this year following successful testing phases.
Other titles in the company’s expanding pipeline include the tactical shooter ‘Cinder City’ and the time survival shooter ‘Time Takers’. While maintaining its core revenue drivers like the ‘Lineage’ IP, NCSoft aims to capture younger demographics and global markets by collaborating with specialized external developers and investing in new IP.
