NCSoft launches AION 2 in early access

NCSoft has launched the early access phase for its MMORPG, AION 2, on Steam and its proprietary PURPLE platform. Players who purchase one of three Founder Packs—Standard ($24.99), Deluxe ($49.99), or Ultimate ($99.99)—gain access five days before the official release on October 5, 2026. These packs include a 30-day subscription and various cosmetic or gameplay advantages.

AION 2 features a world 36 times larger than its predecessor, emphasizing flight mechanics, underwater exploration, and aerial combat. The early access version includes key online features such as character customization, PvP content, high-level activities, and a market economy.

For the European market, NCSoft is providing eight servers divided between the Elyos and Asmodian factions. Servers are organized into linked pairs to facilitate cross-faction combat in specific zones like the Abyss or through space-time rifts. Developers have indicated that these server pairings may be adjusted in the future to maintain gameplay balance.
