ND Gorica withdraws youth teams as financial crisis forces loss of league licence

Four‑time Slovenian champions ND Gorica has been stripped of its licence to play in the second division because of severe financial difficulties. The club announced that it is withdrawing its youth and cadet squads from all competitions organised by the Football Association of Slovenia (NZS). NZS expressed deep regret, noting that the vacant places in the 1. Slovenian Youth League and the 2. Slovenian Cadet League will be filled by NK Triglav Kranj, NK Šentjernej and the newly formed Društvo mladih nogometašev Gorica (DMNG), which will take over the youth academy.

ND Gorica says its short‑term goal is to preserve the senior team in the league while developing a financial recovery plan to settle outstanding obligations and ensure that young players can continue training and competing.
