NDDC honours late Chief Albert Horsfall with football match

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) organized a novelty football match at Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt to honor the late Chief Albert Horsfall. Horsfall was the pioneer Chairman of the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC), the precursor to the NDDC.

The event brought together family members, friends, and NDDC officials to celebrate Horsfall’s legacy and his lifelong passion for sports. The match was officially kicked off by Soibi Godwin-Clark, daughter of the late Chief, and Mrs. Seledi Thompson-Wakama, the NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Sekuropribo Horsfall described the match as a fitting tribute to his father’s love for football. Dr. Soibi Godwin-Clark noted that her father remained an active player even at age 70 and expressed gratitude to the NDDC for recognizing his contributions to the development of the Niger Delta region.
