N'Djamena 1st Arrondissement revises 2026 budget

The municipal government of the 1st Arrondissement of N'Djamena has launched a corrective budget session for the 2026 fiscal year. The meeting, held on August 21, 2026, included Mayor Djamal Yaya Moussa, delegated administrator David Durand, municipal councilors, and neighborhood delegates.

While the communal budget is set at 2,849,539,000 FCFA, officials expressed concern over low revenue collection rates. Current figures show a recovery rate of only 39% for ordinary revenues and 16% for extraordinary revenues. To address this shortfall, the municipality plans to restructure tax collection services and implement the banking of financial flows to improve traceability.

Key priorities for the upcoming period include combating flooding and unsanitary conditions, improving municipal services, enhancing local security, supporting vulnerable populations, and accelerating the digitalization of the communal administration.
