NDR and FUNKE to host event for ‘Nürnberg 45’ docudrama

NDR and FUNKE are hosting a special event at Hamburg’s Zeise-Kino on September 29 to commemorate the ARD docudrama ‘Nürnberg 45 – Im Angesicht des Bösen’. The film explores the Nuremberg Trials, focusing on the experiences of Jewish reporter Ernst Michel and Auschwitz survivor Seweryna Szmaglewska, who testified during the trials.

The event will feature a specially edited short version of the film followed by a panel discussion. Participants include producer Michael Souvignier, NDR Director Hendrik Lünenborg, FUNKE publisher Julia Becker, historian Oliver von Wrochem, and Jacek Wiśniewski, the son of Seweryna Szmaglewska. The discussion aims to examine the motivations behind the atrocities of the Nazi regime and the contemporary relevance of the Nuremberg Trials.
