German television networks announce upcoming talk show programming

Several German television networks have announced their upcoming talk show schedules and special programming for early November 2026.

On the ARD network, the program Maischberger will feature guests including Culture Minister Wolfram Weimer to discuss criticism of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the government's political course, and the AfD. The episode will also address the political situation in the United States ahead of the midterm elections.

On ZDF, Markus Lanz will host a special documentary titled “Amerika ungeschminkt: Was kommt nach Trump?” which explores the MAGA movement and social divisions in the American South. This will be followed by his regular talk show.

Additionally, the WDR talk show “Kölner Treff” will be replaced this Friday by the NDR program “3nach9,” hosted by Judith Rakers and Giovanni di Lorenzo. The “3nach9” guest list includes mountaineer Reinhold Messner, author Melanie Raabe, and actress Matthias Brandt.
