NDTV reports quarterly loss and plans Rs 800 crore fundraise
NDTV has reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 63.51 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. While this loss is a reduction from the Rs 74.01 crore reported in the same quarter last year, the company continues to face financial challenges, including rising borrowings and negative consolidated equity.
Revenue from operations grew by approximately 6 percent year-on-year, rising from Rs 122.27 crore to Rs 129.47 crore. However, total consolidated expenses also increased to Rs 198.50 crore. Key drivers of increased spending included a 21 percent rise in production and service costs and higher employee expenses. These were partially offset by a reduction in marketing, distribution, and promotional expenditures, which fell to Rs 43.71 crore from Rs 58.06 crore in the previous year.
To address its financial position, NDTV’s board has approved a proposal to raise up to Rs 800 crore through the private placement of unsecured, non-convertible perpetual debentures.
