Nea Makri begins bioclimatic renovation of central square

Works have commenced for the bioclimatic renovation of the central square in Nea Makri. The project, initiated by the Municipality of Marathon, aims to upgrade the urban area's aesthetics and environmental quality, specifically focusing on improving the local microclimate and enhancing the quality of life for residents and local businesses.

Due to the construction, the central square will be fully fenced, leading to several traffic and parking adjustments. Parking is prohibited on the two perpendicular streets of the square for the duration of the works. Additionally, the taxi stand has been temporarily relocated to Nikolaou Plastira Street, occupying the section from the intersection with Marathon Avenue to Lamera Street.
