The statement described Famagusta as remaining occupied and closed, with its buildings serving as silent witnesses to the displacement and occupation.

As a refugee sports club, Nea Salamina stated that it continues to carry the memory of Famagusta and its people through its presence in sports. The organization honored those who were lost, those who remain missing, and all residents of Famagusta experiencing displacement, while asserting that they do not accept the occupation.
