Nea Smyrni murder-suicide: Albanian man kills former partner before taking own life

In Nea Smyrni, Athens, a 48-year-old Albanian man, Altin Allmuça, allegedly murdered his 45-year-old former partner, Lulieta Obzova, before committing suicide. The incident occurred early Sunday morning around 05:30 outside an apartment building on Grigoriou Kydonias Street.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was premeditated. Witnesses reported hearing approximately three gunshots. Authorities believe the perpetrator set an ambush, waiting in his vehicle for the victim to emerge from her building. Reports indicate the suspect may have threatened the victim with a revolver and forced her to kneel before firing. The victim sustained fatal wounds to her body and face, while the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Police are currently analyzing digital evidence, including mobile phones and social media posts, to establish a motive. The suspect had previously been arrested in Tirana, Albania, in 2016 for stalking his former wife. The victim had reportedly changed her home locks due to safety concerns and had filed a complaint in 2024 regarding the embezzlement of assets. The victim's daughter lives in the building where the crime took place.
