Neal McDonough and Skeet Ulrich to star in horror film ‘Deify’

Actors Neal McDonough and Skeet Ulrich have signed on to star in the upcoming indie psychological horror film, ‘Deify’. Written by Nicholas Chimera and directed by brothers Nicholas and Carmelo Chimera, the film is set to shoot in Chicago.

The plot centers on a courtroom drama involving a cult leader who is put on trial after his followers are burned alive. Ulrich will portray the manipulative cult leader who claims to receive commands directly from God, while McDonough will play an assistant attorney general who maintains a profound belief in the criminal justice system.

Elements of the script are reportedly inspired by the 1993 Waco, Texas standoff between the Branch Davidians and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, an event that resulted in a fatal fire at the compound.
