Nearchos frigate scheduled for delivery to Hellenic Navy on October 30

The Hellenic Navy is scheduled to receive its second FDI-class frigate, the Nearchos, on October 30. The delivery ceremony is expected to take place at the Naval Group shipyards in Lorient, France.

The vessel has completed the majority of its planned testing phases. Final stages include sea trials to evaluate platform behavior, propulsion systems, electrical installations, navigation, communications, and sensor integration, alongside final pier-side checks.

Currently, the full crew of the Nearchos is in France undergoing training in collaboration with Naval Group technicians. This training follows the same procedure used for the first FDI frigate, Kimon, to ensure the crew is fully prepared for operational integration upon the official raising of the Greek flag.
