Neath Port Talbot locations featured in BBC thriller The Rapture

The BBC psychological thriller 'The Rapture,' based on the novel by Liz Jensen, has utilized various locations across Neath Port Talbot for its six-part series. Filming locations include Port Talbot town centre, which serves as the fictional seaside town of Porth Hen, Margam Country Park, and Aberavon Beach.

Executive Producer Rebecca Durbin noted that the area offered a wide range of visual interest and scale. The production follows other high-profile projects that have filmed in the region, such as 'Doctor Who' and 'His Dark Materials.'

To capitalize on this growing interest, the Neath Port Talbot council is establishing a dedicated Film Office website. This platform will serve as a 'one-stop shop' for production enquiries, featuring an interactive location library. Officials forecast that filming could contribute £1.35 million to the local economy by the end of 2026/27.
