Nebius boosts AI platform with Clarifai team, reports 684% Q1 revenue jump

Nebius (NASDAQ: NBIS), the Amsterdam‑based AI cloud provider, announced that the core engineering and research team from Clarifai, led by founder and CEO Matthew Zeiler, has joined the company. Nebius also secured a non‑exclusive, perpetual license to Clarifai’s modern AI inference and compute‑orchestration technology and acquired Clarifai’s patent portfolio covering inference, compute orchestration and related IP. Zeiler will serve as Nebius SVP of Research, heading work on multimodal agentic reasoning, world models, token efficiency and long‑term memory.

The move follows Nebius’s earlier acquisition of Eigen AI, which optimizes AI models at the model level. Together, the Clarifai system‑level expertise and Eigen’s model‑level optimization are intended to make the Nebius Token Factory a full‑stack inference platform for developers.

Nebius also released its Q1 2026 earnings, showing a 684 % surge in revenue and prompting the stock to climb roughly 20 % intraday, with some reports noting a 15.7 % gain. Investors highlighted the company’s partnerships, including backing from NVIDIA and a large deal with Meta, as drivers of the rally.
