Nebraska and Oklahoma legislatures initiate interim studies
Legislative bodies in Nebraska and Oklahoma are conducting interim studies to prepare for upcoming sessions.
In Nebraska, the Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee is holding hearings on several social and health issues. These include access to play therapy for children, maternal depression, food insecurity for pregnant and postpartum women, and diaper access for families.
In Oklahoma, the Senate has approved four studies focused on the marijuana industry. These investigations will cover the potential impact of federal marijuana rescheduling, pesticide testing and contaminant standards for patient safety, and the management of abandoned marijuana cultivation operations.
