Nebraska Huskers Reveal 2026‑27 Basketball Schedule and Face Rutgers in Football

Nebraska announced its 2026‑27 men’s basketball non‑conference schedule, featuring four games against power‑conference opponents and a neutral‑site matchup versus Boise State in Sioux Falls. The slate includes home contests with Saint Louis, BYU and Kansas State, as well as games against Providence, Butler, Creighton, Le Moyne, Lindenwood, South Dakota, Southern, Mount St Mary’s, Fairleigh Dickinson and New Haven. Coach Fred Hoiberg said the schedule will provide early‑season challenges and help prepare the Huskers for Big Ten play.

At Big Ten media days, football coach Greg Schiano discussed Rutgers’ ambitions as Nebraska’s Week 10 opponent, noting Rutgers’ “vertical alignment” and its goal of a national championship. He highlighted the Scarlet Knights’ strong offense—featuring a 3,000‑yard passer, a 1,000‑yard rusher and standout receiver KJ Duff—while acknowledging defensive struggles.
