Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund raises $2.2M for wildfire‑hit beef producers

The Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund (NCDRF) has collected more than $2.2 million from over 2,570 donors in Nebraska, 48 U.S. states and five foreign countries to aid beef cattle producers affected by the state’s worst wildfire disaster. The fund will close to donations and relief applications on 1 September 2026. All donations will be distributed to eligible producers who suffered property loss or damage in the counties identified by the Nebraska Emergency Management Association’s Watch Center, including Arthur, Blain, Buffalo, Cherry, Custer, Dawes, Dawson, Fillmore, Frontier, Gage, Garden, Grant, Holt, Jefferson, Keith, Lincoln, McPherson, Morrill, Nemaha, Richardson, Saline, Seward, Sheridan, Sioux and Thomas counties. Applicants need not be members of Nebraska Cattlemen; a committee will review submissions and verify expenses such as fencing, pens, structure repairs, feed, livestock removal and other necessary agricultural costs not covered by insurance or other government aid.
