Nebraska dismisses running back Tikey Hayes

Nebraska has dismissed running back Tikey Hayes from the football program after a 33-day stint on the roster. Hayes, a former Penn State and Iowa Western Community College player, joined the Huskers on July 15.

No official reason was provided for his dismissal following nine team practices. His departure leaves the Nebraska running back room with six scholarship players, including sophomores Isaiah Mozee and Mekhi Nelson, true freshman Jamal Rule, and junior Kwinten Ives.

Hayes was a highly recruited athlete from Aliquippa High School who previously held offers from programs such as Ohio State and Tennessee. During his time at Penn State, he appeared in one game, the Pinstripe Bowl victory over Clemson.
