Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule calls for self-evaluation after Oregon loss

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has called for internal self-evaluation following a 17-14 loss to Oregon, marking the team's second consecutive loss after leading late in the game. Rhule stated that while the recent losses are “unacceptable,” he believes the program is only “two plays away from being a top-10 program.”

The team enters an idle week facing significant injury challenges. Running back Vincent Genatone will undergo season-ending surgery, and defensive lineman Anthony Jones Jr. is dealing with a broken foot. Sophomore running back Isaiah Mozee is expected to be sidelined for an undisclosed period, while freshman Jamal Rule's availability for the upcoming Washington game remains uncertain.

Rhule indicated the bye week will be used to address fourth-quarter mistakes across all phases of play. Nebraska's next game is scheduled against Washington on Halloween.
