Nebraska State Patrol arrests two after I-80 high-speed pursuit

The Nebraska State Patrol arrested two individuals following a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 80 on the night of September 21. The incident began near Lincoln when a trooper observed a Lincoln Town Car traveling at approximately 100 mph.

After an initial attempt to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, leading to a chase that continued into York County. Although troopers successfully deployed stop sticks to deflate a tire, the vehicle continued to flee until a trooper performed a tactical vehicle intervention to bring the car to a stop.

Authorities arrested the driver, 23-year-old Alex Ignowski of Omaha, and the passenger, 25-year-old Harley Huckeby of Omaha. During the pursuit, a bag containing 1.5 ounces of marijuana was thrown from the vehicle and later recovered by troopers. Ignowski faces multiple charges, including flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving during revocation, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence. Huckeby was charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
