Nebraska volleyball to face South Dakota State in record-setting match

The No. 1 ranked Nebraska volleyball team is scheduled to face South Dakota State University at the First Bank & Trust Arena on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The match is expected to be a historic event for the region, with SDSU head coach Dan Georgalas noting it will likely be the most-attended volleyball match in South Dakota history. Tickets for the 5,000-seat arena are already sold out, with resale prices reportedly exceeding $250.

South Dakota State enters the matchup with a 1-2 record following a tournament in Malibu, California, where they secured a win against Sacramento State but suffered losses to Pepperdine and Villanova. The Jackrabbits have established themselves as a top-50 program, having made the NCAA tournament in each of the last two seasons.

Nebraska arrives in Brookings following a dominant start to their campaign, which included sweeping No. 2 Texas in Las Vegas. The Huskers' tour of the country will continue after the South Dakota match, with upcoming scheduled appearances at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
