The inaugural Spikes Under The Lights volleyball exhibition tournament took place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, featuring Nebraska, Florida, SMU, and Penn State.

Nebraska won the championship, defeating Florida in straight sets with scores of 21-19 and 21-18. Nebraska earned $350,000 for the victory, while SMU received $250,000, and both Florida and Penn State took home $200,000 each.

In the other semifinal match, SMU defeated Penn State 2-0, winning the first set 24-22 and the second set 21-18 to advance to the championship match against Nebraska.
