NEC forward Sami Ouaissa rejects transfer rumors as he battles ankle injury ahead of Champions League tie

NEC winger Sami Ouaissa said the speculation that he was using his ankle injury to force a move is unfounded. The 21‑year‑old explained that he suffered a genuine ankle problem during the first training session of the season, which caused him to miss several preparatory matches.

He returned to action in a Friday training game against Sevilla, scoring a goal and expressing confidence that he will be ready for NEC’s Champions League first‑leg match against Olympiakos Piraeus on Tuesday. While clubs such as Feyenoord have been mentioned as interested, Ouaissa confirmed no concrete contact has been made.

Ouaissa, who signed a contract with NEC until mid‑2028, emphasized his focus on helping the team and dismissed the rumors as “pure nonsense”.
