NEC, Hitachi, and Anthropic announce new technology and organizational initiatives
NEC has partnered with Anthropic to enhance cybersecurity through the “Project Glasswing” initiative. NEC will utilize Anthropic’s frontier AI model, “Claude Mythos Preview,” to bolster its defensive cybersecurity operations and vulnerability management processes. This collaboration aims to automate security measures and improve the early detection of vulnerabilities within internal IT systems by combining AI analysis with NEC’s expertise in critical infrastructure.
In a separate organizational move, NEC will launch NEC Learning & Career Co., Ltd. on October 1. This new entity, led by Daisuke Horikawa, is designed to support employee reskilling and career development in response to the rapid advancement of AI. The company will focus on helping staff transition toward high-value roles in consulting and operations through continuous learning and practical experience.
Additionally, Hitachi, Ltd. has announced a collaboration with Bloom Energy to provide on-site power solutions using fuel cells. Targeting data centers and industrial sectors, the partnership aims to offer reliable, low-carbon power that bypasses grid constraints. Hitachi has already conducted demonstration tests at its Omika Works to verify output control and monitoring effectiveness.
