NEC to launch ProChemist/CMP for supply chain chemical management

NEC Corporation has announced the launch of ‘ProChemist/CMP’, a cloud-based application service designed to manage chemical substance and resource circulation information across entire supply chains. The service is the first to receive certification from the Chemical and circular Management Platform (CMP) consortium.

Developed as part of the ‘Uranos Ecosystem’ promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the tool aims to replace inefficient manual data transmission methods, such as email and spreadsheets, with a centralized digital framework. The platform connects chemical suppliers with component and product manufacturers, allowing for the seamless exchange of ingredient data and status flags.

Key features include compatibility with existing chemSHERPA-AI/CI data formats, integration with NEC’s ‘Obbligato’ PLM solution, and the ability to link with other CMP applications and internal corporate systems. The service is scheduled for release in October 2026, with pricing starting at 100,000 yen for initial setup and 70,000 yen for monthly fees, depending on company scale.
