NEC to Transfer Overseas Network Equipment Resale Business to Assist Group

NEC Corporation announced it will transfer its overseas network equipment resale and related IT services businesses to a consortium led by Assist Group S.r.l. The deal, covering operations in Latin America, the Asia‑Pacific region and Europe, is slated for completion in fiscal year 2026 pending customary closing conditions.

NEC will continue to run the businesses until the transfer is finalised and will keep supplying biometric authentication products in the affected markets. President and CEO Takayuki Morita said the new ownership will enable the businesses to deliver higher‑value solutions, supporting NEC’s longer‑term focus on AI, biometric technologies and software services as part of a broader portfolio review aimed at boosting corporate value and profitability.
