Club León defeats Necaxa 2-1 at Estadio Victoria

Club León defeated Necaxa 2-1 at Estadio Victoria during the fourth matchday of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament. Despite playing with ten men for the final 30 minutes of the match, León secured the victory.

Daniel Arcila opened the scoring for León in the 27th minute following a mistake by Necaxa goalkeeper Luis Jiménez. Necaxa equalized in the 65th minute through Matías Espíndola, who capitalized on a loose ball in the area. However, Juan Pablo Domínguez reclaimed the lead for León in the 72nd minute after a long run into the opponent's territory.

León's Rodrigo Echeverría was sent off in the 60th minute following a VAR review for a hard foul on Javier Ruiz. With this result, León reaches six points and moves to tenth place in the general standings, while Necaxa also remains at six points but drops to eleventh position.
