NECO releases 2026 SSCE results with 58.67% pass rate
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal results. Out of 1,371,992 candidates who sat for the exam, 804,948 (58.67%) obtained five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics. An additional 1,162,118 candidates (84.70%) achieved five credits in any subjects regardless of their performance in English and Mathematics.
NECO Registrar Prof. Dantani Wushishi announced the results in Minna, Niger State, noting a significant 64.74% reduction in examination malpractice. Cases dropped to 1,406 in 2026 from 3,878 in 2025. Wushishi attributed this decline to the adoption of computer-based examinations and the presence of security agencies such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Department of State Services.
Kano State was identified as the top-performing state, followed by Lagos and Oyo. Candidates can access their results through the official NECO portal using their registration number and a result-checking token.
