Neco Williams signs new contract extension with Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams has signed a new contract extension that keeps him at the club through 2030. The 25-year-old Wales international, who was named the fans’ player of the season for the 2025-26 campaign, had a previous deal set to expire in 2029.
Williams, who joined Forest from Liverpool in 2022, has become an integral figure for the side, performing effectively as both a right-back and a left-back. The club’s chief football officer, George Syrianos, praised the player’s reliability and consistency in a statement regarding the commitment.
The extension comes amid interest from other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United. However, reports indicate that Forest manager Oliver Glasner and owner Evangelos Marinakis were intent on retaining the core of the squad, effectively blocking a potential move to Manchester United.
